SAM4 setup tool
Wi-Fi - Connecting to a network
Click ‘WiFi’ on the 'Connectivity' tab to load this page. Using the SAM4 setup tool, it is possible to connect to an existing WiFi network by filling in the network SSID and password following the steps below. Upon delivery, the DAQ is set up for a DHCP connection.
Notice The DAQ uses the 192.168.1.1/24 network for communication. The WiFi router’s DHCP should not distribute IP addresses that are part of this network. Additionally, the IP of the client’s WiFi router cannot be part of this network, as this will result in an IP conflict.
Notice It is not possible to connect to WiFi networks that require in-browser authentication.
Notice The DAQ can only be connected to 2.4GHz WiFi networks.
1. Fill in the SSID of the network you wish to connect to.
2 Enter the network’s password on the 'Pre-shared Key' field and click ‘Submit’.
3. When the connection is successful, the message ‘Wifi configuration saved’ will show at the top of the screen. The table below lists connection details.
4. If there are any warnings regarding the connection, please take the following actions:
Check the signal strength
Move the antenna to a better position
Refresh the page to see if any improvements have been made
Return to the home page to check the connectivity status
If this fails, swap the gateway for a backup
Notice In specific cases it can be necessary to add a number of URLs and protocols to an active firewall’s whitelist. Please consult the allow list page for a full list of URLs and protocols.
