SAM4 setup tool

Ethernet - Setting a static IP

Click ‘ethernet’ on the 'Connectivity' tab to load this page. Upon delivery, the gateway is set up for a DHCP connection. Using the SAM4 setup tool, the gateway can be configured to use a static IP following the steps below.

Notice The DAQ uses the 192.168.1.1/24 network for communication. The gateway's static IP should not be set to an IP in this network. Additionally, the IP of the client’s internet router cannot be part of this network, as this will result in an IP conflict.

Notice Contact the support team to check whether it's possible to change the IP for the DAQ network.

1. Under ‘IP address’, fill in the CIDR IP-address as ‘xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xx’ (e.g. 192.168.0.123/24). Filling in the subnet, e.g. /24, is mandatory.

2. Under ‘Gateway’, fill in the router’s IP address. Filling in this field is mandatory. Click ‘Apply’.

3. When the configuration is successful, the message ‘Ethernet configuration saved’ will show at the top of the screen. The table below will list connection details.

Notice In specific cases it can be necessary to add a number of URLs and protocols to an active firewall’s whitelist. Please consult the allow list page for a full list of URLs and protocols.
